Hell: On: Age of oblivion
11/09/12 || gk
Ukraine’s Hell: On have been around since 2005 and “Age of oblivion” is the bands third full length album. What we have here is some pretty standard groove-thrash. The album starts with some promise with the catchy opening riffs of “Disaster” but it’s not a promise that the band fulfil all the way through this album. The songs are all competently played, the vocals are decent enough and the production is crisp and modern but there’s nothing here that really grabs you by the throat. A lot of this album has a similar feel to newer Testament and by that I mean, lacking in character and individual personality. It’s all inoffensive and complies with the tropes of modern metal song writing but “Age of oblivion” is just a bit too bland and boring to really make an impact.
5/10: Everything sounds the same.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
